Kindergarten Scientists!

I found a new website for all of the math skills your child will learn in kindergarten.  The site actually has practice for math skills all the way to eighth grade.  Check it out under the Math link on the left side of the page.  It's IXL Math.
Don't forget picture day is Thursday.
Here are some pictures of  the Macaroni M's and Applejack A's that the students made at art center last week.

In science we did an activity called "Seeing Isn't Always Believing."  The students had to try to guess what four types of substances were.  First they just used their eyes, and then they tried to see better using a magnifying glass.  When the decided they couldn't tell the difference between substance one and two, and three and four, they then used their sense of taste to tell the difference.  The four substances were sugar, salt, powdered sugar and flour.  The students should be able to tell you that the taste buds on your tongue help you to taste different things that are sweet, salty, sour or bitter.
