Treasures Reading
The link above will take you to the Treasures Reading Curriculum website.  This is a great resource because it is directly related to what we are doing in the classroom. This site has all kinds of fun activities focusing on language, vocabulary, research and inquiry, and computer literacy skills. I recommend that you and your child visit this site on a weekly basis and do some of the great learning games and activities.

Starfall Learn to Read
Starfall is my favorite website for students to practice reading and have fun at the same time!  There are four different levels of activities on this site, as well as various seasonal and holiday reading games. For the beginning of the year, I recommend having your child explore the first two levels.  The first is "ABCs" which focuses on letter names and letter sounds.  After your child knows all of the letters and sounds, go on to the second level which is "Learn to Read."  Here your child can practice reading different word families, create rhyming words, and even read short stories.  (There is even a Starfall App.)
