Week of November 14th and Pictures of Trucks

Reading: This week we will start Unit 4 about where food comes from and different traditions around the world.  Here is a link to fun activities about this week:  Apple Farmer Annie.  Here is a link for parent information:  Food Week 1.   Here is a link for a list of books that are also about food and traditions.  You should be able to find most of these in the library:  Food Books.

Our letter/sound is "n," our new sight word is "to" and our number is ten.

Math:   We will not have math homework this week.  We will continue to work on addition in the classroom, as well as counting by 10's and 5's.

Science:  We will finish our activities about the five senses.  This week we will focus on the sense of touch

We have 52 cans for the food drive.  Our class goal is 60 cans.  We are almost there.  Thank you for sending in cans.  Remember, the class with the most cans will get a pizza party.

The Thanksgiving Play is this Friday at 1:30 in the auditorium.  Our class will do 10 Little Indians, 5 Little Turkeys and The Turkey Boogie.  Feel free to come early and make a Thanksgiving treat with your child at 12:30 in our classroom, and then stay for the performance at 1:30.

Last week Mr. Luberto brought some trucks to show to our children since we were learning about transportation.  The children really enjoyed seeing the trucks.  Thank you, Mr. Luberto.
